Apple Announces iPod Shuffle

Jumping into yet another market segment they had previously ignored, Apple has announced a low-end MP3 player: the iPod Shuffle. The $99 model has 512MB of flash memory, good enough for 120 songs. iTunes can load it up with a specific playlist (and then you always are playing that playlist), or you can load up music to be played in random order.

It can be worn as jewelry, for Pete's sake! It's smaller than a pack of gum, and only weighs .78 ounces.
