Gmail Notifier for Mac OS X

I guess I expect to get dissed for using a Mac by FEMA, but I have been really disappointed by the slow or non-existent support for Macs by Google. Imagine my suprise and delight when I found out from TUAW that Google is providing a Gmail Notifier for the Mac OS!

I'm right in the middle of moving all my e-mail processing over to Gmail, so this comes at the perfect time. The notifier lets you know when you have email in your Gmail account by displaying a little blue mail icon, along with the number of new messages, in your menu bar.

I know there are already a couple of these little apps out there that already do this (e.g. GmailStatus), as well as a Widget (Gpeek), but I'm much happier with one straight from Google. At least it'll always work when they update Gmail... I hope.

Another cool thing (and an advantage over any Widget) is that it works with Mac OS 10.3.8 and above.

Download it today!
